Birmingham, Alabama is known as the "steel city" for its industry for being the center of the iron and steel industry in the south. Also known for its toughness, Pinson Valley point guard Koolaide is just a product of his environment while on the court. Koolaid is a 6'2 freshman PG for Pinson Valley Varsity team. He has a offer from UAB, which is at home, and a lot more on the way. We caught up with the two sport athlete to get 10 questions with one of the top 10 point guards in the country.
How did you get the name Koolaid? My grandmother gave it to me at birth.
Are you better at basketball or football? Basketball.
What is the best part of your game? I'm better when i'm attacking and I play really good defense.
Who gave you your first offer? how did it feel? UAB gave me my first offer and it felt good knowing I was one of the first few people in my class to have an offer.
What does Birmingham mean to you? Everything, there is nothing like home.
What part of your game need the most work? I need to continue to work on my jump shot from outside.
I see your shoe game is sick and your rock a lot of Air Jordan's, what is your favorite pair? The retro 5's and retro 11's.
Whats your goal this year playing varsity basketball as a freshman? Winning state, average 15-plus and getting as many offers as possible.
What is your ultimate goal? Every day just be the best I can be.
